As of September 5, 2024, this RFP was withdrawn. The estimated Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for this project is budgeted at $1,750,000.00 The primary objective of this project is to improve the research capabilities at Domenici Hall by integrating a state-of-the-art 3T MRI scanner. Known for its superior imaging quality and advanced diagnostic capabilities, the 3T MRI will significantly enhance research in cognitive neuroscience, psychiatric disorders, and substance abuse. The current space, though initially intended for an MRI unit, has sat dormant for over a decade. Consequently, it may require significant updates to the shielding and infrastructure to serve the new equipment effectively. The 3T MRI unit offers higher resolution images compared to lower Tesla MRI scanners, enabling researchers to observe finer details of brain structures and functions. This addition will facilitate a deeper understanding of neural mechanisms and aid in developing more effective interventions for substance abuse and mental health conditions.
