Renovation of a water / sewer project in Rutland, Vermont. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

This project consists of replacement and associated improvements to the roofs on two buildings at the City's wastewater treatment facility, specifically the CSO Building and the Blower Building. The work at each location is detailed as follows: Project Description ;This roof exists on three distinct levels. The scope of work varies on each level. However, the goal of all work at this building is to install a new membrane roof resulting in a building-wide average insulation value of R-45. All questions related to this Invitation to Bid shall be directed to Ted Gillen, Assistant City Engineer at (802) 773-1813 or tedg@rutlandcity.org. Other than very routine questions, all questions will be answered in writing and distributed to all prospective bidders. Schedule: The City requests that the work done as soon as is practical during the summer and/or early fall, to be fully completed by October 1, 2024. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received as a result of this solicitation, to negotiate with any qualified source, to waive any formality and any technicalities or to cancel this request for bids in part or in its entirety if it is in the best interests of the City. This solicitation of bids in no way obligates the City to award a contract. This roof exists on three distinct levels. The scope of work varies on each level. However, the goal of all work at this building is to install a new membrane roof resulting in a building-wide average insulation value ofR-45. The general scope of work at this building is to overlay a new membrane roof on top of the existing roof, creating a complete watertight roofing system. The Contractor shall submit a detailed installation plan for approval by the City, prior to beginning work. Move existing stone ballast as necessary on the roof to accomplish the work. Ballast to be reinstalled following installation of new membrane. If additional ballast is necessary, it may be obtained from that removed from the CSO Building. Install 60-mil Firestone RubberGard EPDM SA (or approved equal) self-adhering rubber membrane over the existing membrane. Provide second layer at/around all roofing penetrations and areas of critical stress. Seal well along all gravel stop flashing. Reinstall stone ballast evenly across the roof.
