DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Scope of work includes excavation, transportation and disposal of contaminated soils; dewatering, and disposal of contaminated water; cleaning, removal and disposal/recycling of underground storage tanks (USTs); backfill; and site restoration DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. This section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for Measurement and Payment. Payment for Work under this Contract shall be made on a unit price or lump sum basis for work actually completed. Final measurements of the work shall be taken by the PROFESSIONAL to determine the actual amount of Work done, to be applied to determine the total cost. The method of applying unit prices shall be as herein specified. B. Payment shall only be made for items listed in the Bid Schedule. The costs of all other Work required for a complete Project shall be included in the prices. C. Methods of measurements and payment for lump sum and unit prices are specified below. Each unit or lump sum price stated in the Bid shall constitute full compensation including all labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, testing, and all fees and taxes, as herein specified, for each item of the Work completed. D. For unit price items, the CONTRACTOR shall be paid for the actual amount of work accepted and for the actual amount of materials in-place, materials used, and materials transported and disposed during the execution of this project. E. For lump sum items, the CONTRACTOR shall be paid on the basis of actual work accepted until the Work item is completed. Upon completion of the item, 100 percent of the lump sum price may be paid, subject to the limitation of the Contract Documents. F. The CONTRACTOR shall provide all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary to the completed work; for performing all work contemplated and embraced by the Contract; for all loss or damage arising from the nature of work, or from the action of the elements, or from any unforeseen difficulties which may be encountered during the execution of every description connected with the execution of the Work except as provided herein; and for all expenses incurred in consequence of the suspension of the work as herein authorized. G. The CONTRACTOR will be paid for the material actually used at the site. No compensation will be made for the material that is bought and stored, but never used at the site. No compensation will be made for damaged material. H. All units of measurement shall be standard United States convention as applied to the specific items of Work by tradition and as interpreted by the PROFESSIONAL.
