All bidders must be Certified Contractors, hold a Valid Certificate of Qualification 1712.01 from the Certificate Board, Room 467, Indiana Government Center, 402 West Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, at the time of bid opening. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The Board of School Trustees of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any defects or informalities if deemed by it to be for the best interest of said Board. If any person contemplating the submitting of a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans and/or specifications, he may submit to the Architect a written request for an interpretation thereof. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt and actual delivery. Any interpretation of such plans and/or specifications will be made only by addendum, duly issued, and a copy of such addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person or bidder receiving a set of plans and specifications from the Architect. Neither the Owner nor the Architect will be responsible for any other interpretations or explanations of such plans and/or specifications which anyone presumes to make on behalf of the Owner prior to the ultimate date set for the receipt of bids. The project consists generally of the removal and replacement of a condensate tank, pipe insulation, steam piping, condensate/return piping, valves, specialties, domestic makeup water, controller, control valves, all as required for the new condensate storage tank and feed water piping. The contractor shall install all new piping and components and return the steam heating system to its working condition. Additionally, a domestic water tank heater and its supporting structure, piping and appurtenances shall be removed.
