96TH STREET ARTIFICIAL REEF STAGING AREA BULKHEAD Martin County is seeking bids from licensed Contractors to construct a bulkhead, approximately 210 feet in length, along the right-of-way at 96th Street under the Arundel bridge. The 96th Street Artificial Reef Bulkhead project will provide Martin County with waterfront access for loading and unloading barges, such as those used for loading and transporting artificial reef materials. The secondary use of this bulkhead will be to provide commercial contractors with an area to load and unload equipment on the waterways that does not impact fishermen or park users at local boat ramps. This project involves construction of a bulkhead, approximately 210 feet in length, along the right-of-way at 96th Street under the Arundel bridge. Due to the sinusoidal shape of the shoreline, dredging and filling will be required to install a straight bulkhead and level the land behind it. The dredged material will be used to fill the area landward of the bulkhead, straightening the shoreline. Funds for this project are derived from a Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) Project Agreement (Project No: MA-23-94). Therefore, the successful Contractor and its subcontractors shall comply with all federal, state and local regulations, as applicable.
