The third phase of the sports complex improvement project is to upgrade the entire softball complex including fan experience, fields’ surfaces to artificial turf, concession and restroom buildings and the underground utilities. The third phase is planned to start in August 2024. The city has a failed corrugated metal pipe (CMP) stormwater conveyance system running through and under this complex. The city contacted JCPRD during their Phase I project to confirm that the softball complex was part of the JCPRD improvement project and learned it was scheduled to be phase III, Staff quickly submitted the Mid-America West Sports Complex CMP Replacement project to JOCO SMP for future funding. Johnson County Stormwater Management Program (JOCO SMP) initiated a Stormwater Pipe Renewal Program in 2020. This fund is set up to be a 50:50 cost share of eligible construction costs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Project provides for the removal and replacement of approximately 1079 linear feet of corrugated metal pipe (CMP) with 60", 36", 24", and 18" reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) included in the public storm water area. Construction will also include surface restoration including concrete curb and gutter, asphalt driveways, concrete sidewalk, sod, and other items. Construction will occur in existing drainage easements or on private property for this project. The Contract shall be awarded by the Governing Body of the Owner at the sole and complete discretion of such Governing Body. The City of Shawnee reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in bids. No pre-bid meeting will be held for this project. Each Bidder shall upload and/or file with their bid a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond drawn on an acceptable bank in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bid Bonds will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders, with the exception of the second qualifying bidder, at such time as their bids are rejected. All bidders shall verify that they have considered all issued addenda. Any addenda issued during the time of bidding shall be covered and included in the bid. There will be no clarifications or exceptions allowed on the Bid. Bids are for a total bid package, and total contract price. Each bid shall be made on a proposal form included with the bid documents. Bids shall be submitted online as indicated on the online. An officer of the firm making such proposal shall properly execute all proposal forms. Bids received after the time and date above specified shall not be considered.
