The project consists of the contractor supplying all material, labor, tools, equipment, and manpower to mill approximately 2,268 square yards of asphalt at 1 1/2 " depth, 4,273 square yards of asphalt at 4 1/2 " depth, install approximately 6,541 square yards of 1.5" depth wearing course, install approximately 4,273 square yards of 3" depth binder course, perform base repair determined in the field after milling, install approximately 44 parking bumpers, and paint approximately 915 linear feet of 4" single white pavement markings. All work and material are to be done in accordance with the latest Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requirements in Publication 408. 1. Mill approximately 6541 SY of pavement from the Radnor Township Public Works parking lot. 2. Place approximately 6541 SY of 1.5" depth wearing course. 3. Place approximately 4273 SY of 3" depth binder course. 4. Perform approximately TBD SY of 5" depth base repair. The Notice of Intent to Award date for this project is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 2, 2024, and the award date for this project is tentatively scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2024. The project must be completed no later than Thursday, October 31, 2024. In the event of a delay to the project completion terms as per the Schedule for which Contractor is solely responsible, Contractor shall pay Liquidated Damages to Radnor Township at a rate of $870.00 per day of delay for every day beyond the Thursday, October 31, 2024 project completion date. A bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid is required. Bid security shall be in the form of either a Bid Bond issued by a corporate surety approved by the Secretary of Insurance to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or a certified check or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit issued by a bank licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Upon award, payment and performance bonds in the amount of 100% of the bid are required, and a maintenance bond in the amount of 25% of the final contract price is required. The work in connection with this project constitutes a Public Works by a Public Body under Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Bidders are advised that prevailing minimum wage rates, promulgated by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Labor, must be paid to workmen employed on this project. The Township will not accept bids from any firm/corporation that are currently in litigation with the Township. The Township Board of Commissioners reserves the right to add or delete portions of work based on budgetary constraints, to waive any informalities and to reject any or all proposals, or parts thereof, for any cause permitted by law, as it deems in the best interest of the Township.
