This project is the construction of the New Parking Lot at the Merritt Meadows Park in the City of Thorold. The Park is located in the South end of the City and is bounded by two streets within residential dwellings; Eastman Gateway and Merritt Road. Merritt Meadows Park is situated in about 6 acres of land and currently consists of a recently built playground area and sidewalk. Future phases of this Park will include: Splashpad, Tennis courts, Soccer and Basketball courts, and gazebo, washroom and park benches. While Thorold has an excellent supply of parks to serve the more urban areas of Thorold, the Merritt Meadows Park need to address the construction of a new parking lot for community use to address the current and future amenities and programs provided by this park and to enhance health and safety, and recent trends in parks and recreation amenities.
