Purpose and Description of Services: Contractor shall provide all expertise, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, personnel safety gear and safety training, and incidentals necessary to perform the collection of plant material for propagating and growing a total of 540 healthy tree saplings in 24-inch planter boxes. Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) services associated with the propagation of trees, uncommon to commercial nurseries in the state, to replace removed trees that are registered as historic by the State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO), as described herein: Contractor shall provide all expertise, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, personnel safety gear and safety training, and incidentals necessary to perform the collection of plant material for propagating and growing a total of 500 healthy tree saplings in 24-inch planter boxes. Written questions must include: the individual's name, firm name, e-mail address and must reference IFB No. 04A7063. Written responses to all questions will be collectively compiled and posted, as an Addendum, electronically. This Agreement will commence on September 1, 2024 (est.), or upon approval by the Department of General Services (DGS), whichever is later, and no work shall begin before that time. This Agreement is of no effect unless approved by DGS. Contractor shall not receive payment for work performed prior to approval of the Agreement and before receipt of notice to proceed by Caltrans Contract Manager. This Agreement will expire on December 31, 2030 (est.). The services shall be provided during working hours 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the potential of afterhours and State holidays. The parties may amend this Agreement as permitted by law. Initial bid opening results will be posted online. Caltrans reserves the right to reject all bids for reasonable cause.
