This project involves the reconstruction of Custer Street and a section of Auburn Street in the City of Dubuque, Iowa. The scope of work includes the installation of 2090 lineal feet of new curb and gutter, placement of 745 tons of 4-inch asphalt pavement, 474 square yards of PCC sidewalk, replacement of 1079 lineal feet of sanitary sewer, 1143 lineal feet of water main, 402 lineal feet of storm sewer, erosion control, and other necessary measures to complete the work. An out-of-state Contractor may file a blanket Bond in an amount at least equal to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for a two (2) year period in lieu of filing an individual Bond for each Contract. Bidders must submit questions about the Contract Documents to the Engineer in writing or by email only. The City of Dubuque, Iowa, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids. Each Bidder must accompany its Bid with a Bid security as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a contract for the work Bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety Bond, acceptable to the governmental entity, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The Bid security must be in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the contract and must be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a statechartered or federally chartered credit union, or the Bidder may provide a Bid Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the governmental entity.
