Central Cooling Tower Rehabilitation Place of Performance Phoenix VA Health Care System Carl T. Hayden Medical Center 650 East Indian School Road Phoenix, AZ 85012 Scope of Work/Requirements a. Cooling Towers #1, #3, and #4: i. Provide all labor and materials for rehab. ii. Remove the existing motor and replace with like. The motor replacement can be aftermarket, provided it has the same name plate information and rating as the existing motor. iii. Remove existing fan shaft and replace with new. iv. Remove driver pulley and driven pulley and replace with new. v. Remove bushings and bearings and replace with new. vi. Remove belts and replace with new. Tighten belts to FLA motor rating of nameplate data. vii. Remove old tower Fill and replace with new. viii. Balance the Cooling Tower's fan. ix. Sand blast wire brush scale and rust from the internal cell of the tower. Seal all seams with sika flex. Paint a coat of Polyurea to interior seams. 1. Key points of consideration: a. Cranes, forklifts, or scaffolds may need to be required. b. Scheduling for equipment egress needs to be considered. c. Stands and bracing may need to be installed. d. Proper disposal of unit in accordance with (IAW) all EPA standards and procedures. e. Set up containment coverings to contain sand blast material. f. Clean up all debris. b. Cooling Tower #2 (Exclude motor, bearings, fan shaft, drive and driven pulleys, bushings, and bearings. Provide parts and labor:i. Remove belts and replace with new. Tighten belts to FLA motor rating nameplate data. ii. Remove old tower fill and replace with new. iii. Balance the Cooling Tower's fan. iv. Sand blast wire brush scale and rust from the internal cell of the tower. Seal all seams with sika flex. Paint a coat of Polyurea to interior seams.
