As of June 5, 2025, an engineer has been selected for the project. Bidding is estimated to take place in fall of 2025 and construction is estimated to take place in fall/winter of 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Olathe has an annual project for the installation of new traffic signals, traffic signal modifications, and/or the replacement of existing traffic signals that are beyond their useful life. The scope of service associate with this request for qualifications will include the design of new traffic signals and/or the replacement of existing traffic signals for up to the next five (5) years. Scopes of services and fees will be developed separately for each project. It is anticipated that projects will occur at the following intersections; however, other locations may be selected: o Santa Fe and Black Bob (replacement) o Indian Creek Parkway and Black Bob (new) o Santa Fe and Buchanan (replacement) o Santa Fe and Brougham (replacement). Design services shall address all items necessary for construction and operation of the completed project. Design services are anticipated to include, but are not limited to: surveying; preparing construction plans; land acquisition documentation; traffic control plans including signs, pavement markings and marker plans; geotechnical investigation including boring and analysis; and utility coordination including potholing and surveying (refer to Exhibit C for utility coordination requirements).
