Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Working plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

The Domestic Violence Shelter is a non-profit organization that provides supportive services and shelter to survivors of domestic violence/sexual abuse and is seeking qualified, licensed & insured contractor(s) to bid on the shelter re-roof project. Roofing service including maintenance and repair and installation and roofing and siding and sheet metal services and gutter and downspout service and skylight installation service .Exterior finishing material including rain gutters and accessories and fencing and roofing materials and accessories siding and exterior wall materials It is the intent of the Domestic Violence Shelter to replace the shelter roof. The contractor shall provide a fixed lump sum bid including all permits, fees, material, labor, equipment, testing, fees, permits, taxes, etc. to complete the work. If the full scope cannot be covered, the owner at their discretion may reject trade level proposals. 1. Contractor brings their own dumpster, and all layers of the existing roofing will be removed down to the wood deck and hauled away. (Any deteriorated wood decking will be removed and replaced). 2. A 3' strip of ice & water protective underlayment will be installed at all eave edges and in all valleys. 3. New 90-degree drip edge metal will be installed at roof edges (rakes and eaves). A 12" strip of ice & water protective underlayment will be installed as edge metal strip-in at the eaves. 4. A synthetic shingle underlayment will be nailed to the remainder of the wood deck. 5. New asphalt shingles will be installed in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. The new shingles will be fastened with six nails (not staples) per shingle. All nails to be galvanized, large-head roofing nails. 6. New galvanized metal flashings will be installed on all pipe and vent flues that penetrate the roof deck. 7. All existing roof/wall penetration flashings (including step shingle and L-metal flashings) will be reused, if possible, to avoid any unnecessary damage to be caused to the stucco. If these flashings are found in a condition unsuitable for reuse, all new surface mounted flashings will be installed as required OR new stucco pop-outs can be completed via a licensed sub-contractor (at an additional expense) as necessary. 8. New roof vents will be installed as necessary to allow for attic ventilation. 9. Roof ridges will be covered with new flat pre-cut hip and ridge shingles. 10. All roofing debris will be removed from the premises and the job site will be left neat and clean. All materials are to be purchased and provided by Contractor. Question Deadline 07/25/2024 at 12:00 PM MT To be disclosed upon contractor selection - South Salt Lake County The contractor shall have five (5) years of experience in commercial roofing construction and other applicable requirements and have a valid license (per the scope covered in their bid) in good standing with the State of Utah. This project will be a FEDERALLY FINANCED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT. All rules and regulations governing such projects will be applicable. The contract is to be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, whose bid meets the requirements and criteria set forth in the request for bids. Requirements for prevailing wage rates and certified payrolls apply as it is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. Salt Lake County HCD policy requires direct email solicitation of at least six Section 3 (low-income) and at least six Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) such as Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Own Business (WBE). All solicitations, including those done through the State's procurement website, U3P, will be documented in the files. As noted above, Section 3 solicitations are required by HCD policy even if the project is not subject to Section 3. Insurance Generally accepted insurance limits: General Liability = $2,000,000 general policy aggregate with $1,000,000 per occurrence. Products Completed Aggregate= $2,000,000 Auto Liability = $1,000,000 Workman's Comp = $1,000,000 Insurance must cover all subcontractors The Agency/Owner reserves the right to select the contractor based on the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Failure to meet or include any requirements outlined above may deem a bidder unresponsive and disqualify them.
