The Service Provider shall provide full maintenance of the elevators, freight elevators, platform lifts, small freight elevators, (central console, monitoring system computers, infomercial screens (**excluding infomercial screens installed by third parties e.g. Pattison and not used for elevator purposes e.g. position display) and UPS vertical transport devices) described in this document in accordance with these clauses and requirements. The maintenance service contract is of the global type, and includes service calls twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, and the breakdown service to remove people caught in the cabins, whatever the cause of the breakdown. Bids must be based on the present preventive maintenance program with precise and detailed tasks and frequencies. The successful bidder will not be allowed to propose any other maintenance program. Failure to do so may result in penalties or even cancellation of the contract. The purpose of this specification is to extend the life of the equipment and to ensure that it provides the protection and performance for which it was designed, but not to require changes for the purpose of making the equipment conform to requirements for a design different from that applicable by the standard in force at the time of its installation and/or retrofit. These specifications, including periodic maintenance intervals and testing frequencies, are to be considered as a minimum standard to which the Service Provider must work and in no way constitute the limit of its obligations and responsibilities.
