City of Manassas Regional Airport is one of the largest general aviation airports in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Airport is planning to obtain Part 139 certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, that will allow commercial flights to operate at the airport. To achieve the Part 139/commercial service objective, the Airport intends to expand the existing terminal by 35,000 SF into an efficient, 6-gate terminal that leads the industry in guest experience, environmental responsibility, and on-time performance. As part of this program, the Airport intends to add an economy parking lot of approximately 750 parking spaces on a parcel of land located directly across from the airport. The parcel is zoned M/T and the proposed parking lot is a by-right use within this zoning district and is compatible with the existing and planned uses in the vicinity. The 2040 Comprehensive Plan has designated long–range land use as Industrial –Tech/Flex. The proposed location of the economy parking lot is in close proximity to the Airport and will provide an efficient and exceptional level of service to the public that will avail the commercial aviation services of Manassas Regional Airport.
