Renovation of a transportation facility in Denver, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Reference Number : 0000355895 The project consists of flooring replacement. The carpet in the general circulation areas within the concourses, gate hold rooms, and various Federal Inspection Service (FIS) areas has deteriorated significantly. This existing carpet has exceeded its expected lifespan and urgently requires replacement. The building expansion joint covers at the transitions from sub-cores to hold rooms throughout ACON, BCON, and CCON are damaged beyond repair and can no longer be repaired or secured in place. Carpet replacement in the concourses was last undertaken in 2016, with a six-year projected lifespan. The carpeting in these areas has now exceeded this lifespan, displaying noticeable signs of aging, extensive wear patterns, and stains beyond cleaning. Damaged building expansion joint covers and aged and deteriorated carpet create trip hazards for our customers, tenants, and employees. Additionally, floor renovation work has been recently conducted by United for their Gate of the Future project. For any work that conflicts with this project, coordination will take place to ensure deconflicting scopes are managed. The recommended solution is to replace all the flooring and expansion joint covers in the general circulation areas mentioned above. Additionally, areas around escalators and moving walkways with high traffic in the main circulation corridors on the concourses will replace the existing carpet with alternative flooring options. The alternative flooring option of installing terrazzo/quartz tiles for the main circulation areas of the concourses would align with the Great Hall and Concourse Expansion flooring options.
