Description of Project: The 12kV Electrical Power Distribution Loop Rehabilitation Project includes six phases of work that are being planned and sequenced in the upcoming years to coordinate with other ongoing capital improvement projects at the Palo Alto Regional Water Quality Control Plant. This Bid Package 2 (IFB 192135) includes installation of a canopy structure over new Load Centers (LC-3 & -4), replacement of several medium voltage switches, Secondary Service Entrance Cabinet and associated switch, and their associated conductors; installation of temporary conductors and conduits during shutdowns and switchovers; demolition of exisiting equipment (cabinets, switchgear, transformer, etc.); site preparation work such as vegetation, pavement and curb removal; site civil, structural and other miscellaneous work as specified in the project plans and specifications. Issue Notice of Intent to Award (Tentative):August 14, 2024 Work Commences (Tentative):October 1, 2024 Works Ends (Tentative):December 31, 2026 The prime contractor for this work shall possess a valid State of California Contractor's License in the following category or categories: Class A/General Engineering Contractor For all bids in excess of $25,000, Bid security in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate amount of the Bid, including all Bid Alternates, is required. Bid security shall be submitted as either surety bond substantially in the form attached to this IFB, or delivered separately on or before the Bid due date in the form of a certified check or cashier's check with reference to this Bid number and project name. The Bid Security of Bidders who do not qualify as the lowest responsible bidder shall be returned to such Bidders no later than sixty (60) days from the date of award of contract unless extended by written agreement. The City reserves the unfettered right to reject all Bids for any reason or for no reason, to re-advertise a Bid, or to cancel a Bid listing and elect to perform the Project and Work with its own forces. The City reserves the right to reject as non-responsive any Bid which is incomplete, modified, unsigned, or illegible or which is not otherwise submitted in accordance with the requirements of this Invitation for Bids. The Engineer's Estimate for this project is $8,420,000.00. REPLACE (5) EXISTING MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHES. INSTALL UNDERGROUND VAULTS EOR NEW MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHES. REPLACE EXISTING SECONDARY CPAU CABINET. PROVIDE TEMPORARY POWER DURING THE WHOLE DURATION OF ANY SHUTDOWNS
