Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in East Chicago, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK . This work shall include but not limited to the reconstruction of the pavement, sidewalks & curb ramps, driveways, storm and sanitary sewers including laterals concrete curb and gutters, water main and water service lines all along Magoun Ave. from W. Chicago Ave. to W. Columbus Dr. East Chicago, Indiana. COMPLETION OF WORK . The work shall be completed by July 31, 2026. BID SECURITY. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashiers or certified check, drawn on an acceptable bank, or an acceptable bidders bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, payable to the City of East Chicago, Indiana. The bidder to whom a contract for work is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond executed on the specified forms and acceptable to the City, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required from the successful bidder. Liquidated damages for delay will be as provided in the Bid Proposal. Work hours will be as provided in the Special Provisions. Partial payment will be made monthly based on an approved payment requisition. The City of East Chicago, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or parts there-of and to waive all responsibility for irregularities in bids. Bids may be held by the City of East Chicago, Indiana, for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and the investigation of the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. The Board of Public Works, City of East Chicago further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, to the advantage of the City of East Chicago, or to reject all bids. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Fifty (50%) percent of the Contractor's work force in each initial craft will be comprised of residents of the City of East Chicago participating in the Indiana Plan, whenever possible.
