Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Chipley, Florida. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

IMPORTANT : Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked: City of Chipley Building Demolition and identified by the Name of the Company, Name and Number of the Bid, along with the Date and Time of Opening . Section 3- 1384 North Railroad Avenue 1. Install construction fence and hay bales to protect adjacent property during demolition. 2. Demo and remove building, to include foundation and footers. 3. The city will pump out the grease trap, and the contractor will crush in place. 4. Grade property. 5. Lay sod. Section 4- 1388 North Railroad Avenue 1. Install construction fence and hay bales to protect adjacent property during demolition. 2. Demo and remove building, to include foundation, footers, and the block wall surrounding the property. 3. Take steps to protect the existing asphalt. 4. Grade property. 5. Lay sod. 6. Install approximately 160' of guardrail on the north side of the property. 7. Install approximately 144' of guardrail on the east side of the property. 8. Install approximately 30' of handrail on the south side of the property. This project will include the demolition of city buildings located at 1388 and 1384 North Railroad Avenue, Chipley. Demolition, removal of debris, grading, and sod will be required for this job. The locations consist of buildings, asphalt, and concrete. This project will require safety measures to protect vehicle and pedestrian traffic, as well as possible run off until final grading and sod is in place. A. Building structures, including foundations and footings shall be completely removed. B. Dispose of removed materials, waste, trash, and debris in a safe acceptable manner. C. Burying of trash and debris on site will not be permitted. Burning of trash and debris at the site will not be permitted. D. Remove trash and debris at frequent intervals so that their presence will not delay the progress of the work or cause hazardous conditions for workers and the public. E. Removed materials, trash, and debris shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the project site and be disposed of legally. Location of disposal site and length of haul shall be the contractor's responsibility. F. The contract documents may not represent all surface conditions at the site and adjoining areas. The known surface conditions are as indicated and shall be compared with actual conditions before commencement of work. G. Backfill and compact depressions caused by excavations, demolition, and removal. H. Minimize interference with adjoining roads, sidewalks, and other adjacent occupied or used facilities during the project. I. Do not close roads or sidewalks without city approval. J. Do not begin earth-moving operations until temporary site fencing and erosion- and sedimentation- control measures are in place. K. Protect structures, utilities, sidewalks, roads, and other facilities from damage caused by settlement, undermining, washout, and other hazards created by earthmoving operations. L. Protect and maintain erosion and sedimentation controls during earth-moving operations. M. Provide a smooth transition between adjacent existing grades and new grades. N. Cut out soft spots, fill low spots, and trim high spots to provide a uniform grade, free of irregular surface changes. O. Protect active sewer, water, gas, electric, and other utilities; and drainage and irrigation lines indicated or, when not indicated, found or otherwise made known to the Contractor before or during demolition work. If utility is damaged, immediately notify the utility owner for corrective action. P. Install app.160' of guardrail on the North side of the project. Q. Install app. 144' of guardrail on the south side of the project. R. Install app. 30' of handrail on the South side of the project. Bids will be received by either hand delivery to the City Clerks Office located at 1442 Jackson Avenue, Chipley, Florida or by mail at City of Chipley, Post Office Box 1007, Chipley, Florida 32428 by the Bid closing deadline. Late submittals received after the aforementioned deadline date, either by mail or otherwise, will not be considered and will be returned unopened. The time of receipt will be determined by the time received in the City of Chipley City Hall City Clerks Office. It is the sole responsibility of the vendor for assuring that the bid is received in the City Clerks Office by the designated date and time. No faxed, electronic or oral bids will be accepted. SPECIAL NOTE: The City requires a business license to be paid for the privilege of engaging in any business within the city limits. Please contact the Finance Office for a fee schedule. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of fifteen days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.
