For purposes of this Contract, Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, supervision, and incidentals necessary to maintain, repair, or replace Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) at all VTA sites for up to seven (7) years. This equipment is critical in maintaining VTA operations during power outages or other natural disasters that would affect VTA's power supply. In particular, this equipment is the bridge between Pacifica Gas & Electric and the emergency generators. This equipment bridges the gap between any power failure and the generators starting up allowing VTA to maintain continuity with critical electrical equipment and operational computer systems. The Work will be conducted within an operating rail yard and adjacent to and within existing shop facilities. This Work will be subject to restrictions to ensure safety and the continuing operations of the yard and shop and the light rail system. The Engineer's Estimate for this Work ranges from $2,100,000.00 to $2,800,000.00. Refer to Section 6.4, Time for Performance, for the time limit to complete all Work. Question Submission Deadline : August 15, 2024, 2:00pm. VTA reserves, holds and may exercise, at its sole discretion, the following rights and conditions with regard to this IFB, and by submitting your electronic Bid, Bidders acknowledge and consent to the following rights and conditions Licenses The Bidder to whom the Contract will be awarded ("Contractor") must, at the time of Bid Opening possess current licenses in the following classifications issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Contractors State License Board: License: - Class A (General Engineering) and/or C10 (Electrical) A Bidder may fulfill these license requirements either by itself or in conjunction with licenses held by subcontractors of any tier. A combination of prime contractor and subcontractor licenses is acceptable only when (a) each such subcontractor's scope of work is identified in Bid Form 3 (regardless of the subcontractor's tier or subcontract amount); and (b) each such subcontractor possesses the identified license at the time stated above; and (c) the prime contractor will perform at least 30 percent of the original total bid price. Regardless of whether a subcontractor must be identified at the time of Bid, each subcontractor must also be properly licensed to perform its scope of work. Bid Forms Refer to Section 4, Bid Forms, for a list of required forms and certifications to submit at time of Bid Opening. Bid Security Each Bid must include a true copy of certified check, a cashier's check or a bidder's bond in the sum of not less than the percentage stated in Section 3.10.2, Bid Security Form/Bidder's Bond. Prevailing Wages This Project is a "public work" as defined in Sections 1720 through 1720.6 of the California Labor Code. This Contract is subject to the prevailing wages as described in Section 3.5, Prevailing Wage Requirements. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
