Estimated Bid Value $97,000 Start/Delivery Date Plans & Specifications MUST be completed by 02/20/2025 Q&A Deadline 08/06/2024 5:00 PM (PDT) The City of El Centro is requesting proposals from engineering consultants to complete the design plans and specifications for the following state funded project: 1. Imperial Ave. Traffic Signal Synchronization Project The City proposes to upgrade signal lights along Imperial Ave. from Ocotillo Dr. to Main St., and install new fiber optic communication lines and conduit east of the intersection of Imperial Ave. & State St. in the City of El Centro. The Improvements will include fiber optic interconnection between signals and have wireless interconnection from a main intersection to the main City Traffic Management System (TMS), located in the Public Works Yard. Cabinet equipment and upgrades to signal light detection systems will be required in order to support the interconnection and avoid false detection caused by low lying sun. Wireless repeaters may be required to provide line-of-sight to the wireless interconnection equipment. Updated timing sheets will be required to provide better coordination through the Imperial Avenue corridor. The proposed improvements will improve signal timing to allow Traffic to flow more efficiently, and thus reducing greenhouse gases caused by unnecessary vehicle idling. Six (6) signalized intersections will be improved along Imperial Ave. from Ocotillo Dr. to Main St. The consultant will be responsible for providing a detailed project description, plans, bid schedules, bid item descriptions, payment methods, special provisions, technical specifications, and any specification detail sheets and/or relevant standard plans.. Construction Budget is $644,000 not including design services. This project has a specific DBE Contract goal of 10%. See Attachment for additional information.
