Saving Project...

Site work for a civil project in Edgerton, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Project has been awarded but award amount not confirmed. The City of Edgerton is seeking qualifications from Design Teams for the engineering and design of Site #2 and Site #3 of the Dwyer Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project. The City of Edgerton, Kansas is in the southwest corner of Johnson County. The City has a population of nearly 1,800 and a new housing development, Dwyer Farms, will send flow from an additional 200-300 new homes to the City Pump Station and then to Big Bull Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (BBCWWTP). The existing plant (built in 2013) has capacity for 0.5 MGD, with several processes sized for expansion. Today the plant receives an average of 0.3 MGD, with peak flow exceeding 0.4 MGD. The new Dwyer Farms residential development is projected to add an addition 80 gpm (0.12 MGD) average flow and peak flow of 240 gpm (0.35 MGD). It is critical for the continued development of Dwyer Farms and future developments in Edgerton that the improvements included in this scope of work be completed expeditiously. This project would design the improvements and equipment upgrades at Site #2 and Site #3. Site #2 includes improvements to the existing City Pump Station by converting a decommissioned lagoon to a new equalization basin or lagoon, construction of a new 30-inch gravity main, and upsize the existing 8-inch, approximately 245 linear feet of sanitary sewer. Site #3 includes upgrading and improving the SCADA system and replacement of aged equipment at the BBCWWTP. The project team will analyze the existing plant and pump station for functional improvements, redundancy, and modernization as needed. Additionally, the decommissioned lagoon will be evaluated for the most efficient use as a new equalization basin or re-established lagoon. The project team will also understand the existing sanitary sewer system and treatment process to identify possible cost savings with existing infrastructure being sized to accommodate the anticipated increased flow associated with the Dwyer Farms development. The project team would assist the City in evaluating and determining the appropriate improvements to these two project sites. The project team would assess the additional needs for construction (additional equipment and systems), work with appropriate permitting agency in preparation for bidding the construction phase of the needed improvements. The Design Team shall provide an executed statement defining and describing any work the Team is currently performing for any existing or proposed development/business within Edgerton (i.e. at LPKC). The City of Edgerton reserves the right to reject any Statement of Qualifications based on actual or perceived conflicts arising from this statement. The City of Edgerton reserves the right to reject any and all Statements of Qualifications, to waive minor defects or technicalities, or to solicit new Statements of Qualifications for the same project or a modified project that may include portions of the originally proposed project as the City of Edgerton may deem necessary Individual meetings are available for Teams with Edgerton staff to be conducted July 23rd to July 25th. These meetings will include a tour of the wastewater plant, pump station, and an opportunity for teams to ask questions. Meeting requests should be sent to Holly Robertson as listed below. Questions during the RFQ period should be directed to: City of Edgerton, Kansas Holly Robertson, CIP Project Manager PO Box 255 404 East Nelson Street Edgerton, KS 66021 Phone: (913) 893-6231 hrobertson@edgertonks.org Responses should be limited to 20 double-sided 8.5 ''x 11'' pages excluding the cover letter and insurance references. The contractor must also adopt a fair share objective of awarding 4.1/% of the contract amount to Minority Business Enterprises (MBE's) and 6.9% of the contract amount to Women's Business Enterprises (WBE's)
