The Ashland Water Treatment Plant is located at 1630 Cleveland Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805. Attention to the BIDDERS is called to the Instructions to Bidders, which are included in the proposed Contract Documents. Successful BIDDER shall be required to comply with all laws pertaining to minimum wage and discrimination of persons. All bids must be signed and submitted on the bid forms provided in the Bid book. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. Each bid must contain the full names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty Bond for the full amount (100%) of the Bid, in favor of the City of Ashland, Ohio or a certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in the amount of 10% of the Bid, payable to the City of Ashland, Ohio. It is agreed that the bid guaranty shall be for the benefit of the City pursuant to Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code if the undersigned fails to execute the Contract in conformity with the Form of Contract incorporated in the contract documents and furnish Bond and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the Contract to the undersigned. The work covered by the Contract Documents includes the following: WTP Water Softener No. 1 Repairs The proposed work consists of removing the existing softener equipment, salvaging parts for re-use, replacement of damaged parts, removal of the concrete tank bottom, replacement of the concrete tank bottom with a new thicker concrete floor, re-setting the existing softener with the salvaged and new parts and piping, replacing the electrical feed for the softener, installing monitoring well level sensors connected with SCADA to allow monitoring of the groundwater and placing the softener back in service. The City requires substantial completion of the project within 300 calendar days of the issuance of Notice to Proceed. The Engineer's estimate of probable construction cost for all Base Bid items of the proposed work is $871,000.
