As of October 2, 2024, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. The Project includes the following Work: The Madison Road Office Building was built in 1995 and is a 28,600 SF, two story building located in Orange, Virginia. The building is currently occupied by some of Orange County's public service offices and the County's public library is located on the first floor. The building is steel framed with a masonry veneer exterior facade. The building has two public entrances on the first floor with one being into the public library. The first floor is primarily public library space with a portion of the floor dedicated to office space. The second floor contains a lobby and a main corridor that leads to several office spaces. The existing Direct Expansion (DX) split air handling units serving the first and second floors will be demolished along with all accessories, ductwork, piping, and diffusers. The contractor will install a new DX HVAC system with variable air volume terminal units with electric reheat. One air handling unit will be dedicated to each floor. The existing outdoor condensing units will be demolished, and the mechanical equipment yard will be expanded to accommodate the required clearances for the new heat pump outdoor units. The Orange County Board of Supervisors is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors for renovation of the HVAC system at the Sedwick Building located at 146 N.
