Renovation of a fire / police facility in Leavenworth, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The City of Leavenworth, KS Fire Department is accepting Proposals from qualified vendors to facilitate the replacement of the current Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system at FD Station #2 (925 Shawnee St.) PRINCIPLE ITEMS OF WORK Removal and replacement of 3 split systems with new, high efficiency equipment. The new units will be condensing furnaces utilizing PVC for combustion air and venting. The new condensing units shall be R-410A and a minimum of 16 SEER energy rating. Additionally, the new system will utilize UV lights installed above each coil for elimination of contaminants. Interested vendors may obtain copies of the actual Request for Proposal (RFP) from Andrew See (City Finance Dept. 913-684-0346 andrew.see@firstcity.org). Questions regarding this RFP or a proposal should be directed to Mike Shore mshore@firstcity.org. The questions and answers may be shared with all bidders. It is an explicit provision of this RFP that any oral communication is not binding on the City. The City's governing body reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities. In an effort to improve the operating efficiency and comfort of fire department employees, the city of Leavenworth is seeking a qualified HVAC contractor to facilitate the replacement of the current HVAC system in operation at Fire Station No. 2. The overall goal of the project is to install an HVAC system that is responsive to year-round temperature fluctuations within the workplace. 1. Remove and replace three (3) split systems with new high efficiency equipment. The new units will be condensing furnaces utilizing PVC for combustion air and venting. The new condensing units and coils will be R-410A and a minimum of 16 SEER energy rating. 2. The new systems will utilize UV lights installed above each coil for eliminating the growth of mold and other air born contaminants. 3. This project will require a basic set of engineered drawings that must be submitted to the city for approval prior to the work beginning. 4. Air test and balance prior to the start of the work and at the completion of the work with a full report provided to the city of Leavenworth.
