a) All labour, equipment, and material to complete annual inspection, testing and reporting for all portable fire extinguishers located at the City of Ottawa facilities indicated in Annex A - Facility Listing. These onetime annual inspections shall be completed within 120 days of contract award and shall be in conformance with NFPA-10 standard for portable fire extinguishers, the Fire and Ontario Building Codes, ULC recommendations and in compliance with the local authority having jurisdiction. The Contractor will provide an annual report to the City for each building detailing all fire extinguishers inspected, including size, type and their location in the building. b) Upon authorization to proceed by the Facility Supervisor, all deficiencies found during the annual inspection will be corrected at the prices submitted in the Price Schedule. The return visit for this corrective remedial action will be considered as part of the annual inspection and "on call" hourly rates shall not apply. Should the servicing of the original fire extinguishers be conducted off-site, the Contractor must leave a temporary fire extinguisher in the same place, same size and type until the original unit(s) are returned. All deficiencies must be corrected within three (3) days of authorization by the Facility Supervisor or Project Authority. c) The Contractor will provide a complete inventory (updating the table as found in Annex A) per building as found in each district within 6 weeks of final inspection of each district. d) A price breakdown per district (East, Central, West, Special Operations, and Water Services) will be provided in the Price Schedule. e) "On call" only, for maintenance, recharging, inspections or replacement of fire extinguisher(s) shall be in conformance with the Price Schedule established herein. This work shall be performed as an "on call" function that is specifically ordered by the City's Representative. Prices established within this contract (i.e. hourly rates) shall be used for all these works. f) "On call" work shall be defined as works undertaken by specific authorization from the City of Ottawa in order to investigate problems, trouble shoot, repair, alter or rehabilitate City of Ottawa fire extinguisher over and above the routine annual inspections. The hourly rate plus the costs associated with the required repairs will form the basis of the "on call" charge for services rendered. Commercial General Liability insurance issued on an occurrence basis for an amount of not less than $5,000,000 per occurrence for any negligent acts or omissions by the Contractor Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
