The intent of this solicitation is to establish a term contract to furnish and install Flexi-Pave or equivalent product for the City of Fairfax, VA to be used on an as-needed basis. The product shall be used for, but not limited to, sidewalks, trails, parking spots, driveways, tree surrounds, and potholes. Question Deadline 08/02/2024 at 1:00 PM ET Submit all questions to david.kundid@fairfaxva.gov . The term of the contract shall be one (1) year from date of award. This contract may be renewed by the City upon written agreement of both parties for four (4) oneyear periods, under the terms of the current contract, and at a reasonable time (approximately 90 days) prior to the expiration. SCOPE OF WORK: a. Material Specifications i. Material composition to be wire free recycled tire granule, rock aggregate, and binding agent. ii. Cures within twenty-four (24) hours. iii. Permeable and porous material. iv. Impact absorbing surface. v. Skip resistant. vi. ADA compliant. vii. Freeze resistant material. viii. All material shall have a pallet of colors. b. Contractor's Responsibilities i. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete work. ii. Aggregate shall be compacted to avoid settling. iii. There shall be a minimum of one (1) inch of Flexi-Pave or equivalent product, rubber surface installed in all locations. iv. Excavation shall stop when roots are encountered. v. Rubber surface shall be level with surrounding surfaces. vi. Contractor shall include a minimum warranty of 5 years for workmanship. vii. Contractor shall properly dispose of material waste daily and clean all areas at the end of each workday. viii. Contractor shall provide a 48 hour notice to City officials prior to starting of work. ix. Permitted working hours listed below. 1. Monday through Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. 2. Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. 3. Extended time and any deviations shall be approved by the Director of Public Works or appointee. Work is prohibited on nights, weekends, and public holidays unless approved by the City of Fairfax, or in an emergency as defined by City Code, Section 82-113 (b). x. Contractor shall take all measures to ensure safety of pedestrians and motorists. 1. Barricading off work areas 2. Signage directing pedestrians around work areas 3. Follow all work zone procedures outlined in the MUTCD for working/parking vehicle in ROW.
