As of May 15, 2025, a general contractor has been awarded and construction is complete. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of New Smyrna Beach is soliciting proposals from qualified solar photovoltaic (PV) providers to design, engineer, and install turn-key rooftop solar systems on various City owned buildings. Project Description The City of New Smyrna Beach is soliciting proposals from qualified Contractors to provide turn-key installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for three City-owned buildings. The two City-owned buildings related to this project include: Live Oak Cultural Center, located at 1050 Live Oak Street, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168 Coronado Civic Center, located at 150 N. Pine Street, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168 The number of projects to be awarded will be determined by the availability of funding. The City makes no covenant or promise as to the number of available projects or that the awarded firm will perform during the life of the basic contract. Background The City serves an area of 41.6 square miles in size and serves a population of approximately 32,400. It is located off of Florida's East Coast, in the County of Volusia, just north of Cape Canaveral with easy access to both Interstate 95 and Interstate 4.
