The City of Victorville is seeking qualified skilled contractors to perform sinkhole pavement repair. The sinkhole was caused by a leaking water service under the pavement on Solitude Circle in March of this year and Public Works has made a repair for the waterline. Currently, the road is paved with temporary asphalt. The City is seeking a contractor capable of completing the pavement repairs. The contract shall consist of, but not limited to, labor, materials, tools equipment and supplementary services necessary to complete the work. SCOPE OF WORK: o Excavate top 30" of existing pavement, recompact to 95% relative compaction and pave the road with 3" of AC (B-PG 64-10 R15) over 8" of Class 2 Base. (Refer to attached Plans). Subgrade shall be compacted to 90% relative compaction. o Stripping - one Stop Bar and Legend per City Standard Drawing S-31. o Traffic Control Plans and Implementation - It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to maintain the access and coordinate the work with the property owners including 13496 and 13491 Solitude Circle. o Plans attached as Exhibit FOR QUESTIONS: Celeste Calderon, Finance Specialist Phone: (760) 955-5082, Fax: (760) 269-0045, e-mail: cmcalderon@victorvilleca.gov LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The Contractor shall pay SCLAA the sum of $1,000.00 per day for each and every calendar day delay in finishing the work as outlined in the Scope in excess of the FIFTEEN (15) WORKING DAYS specified below as Liquidated Damages. The SCLAA withholds liquidated damages before the accrual date if the anticipated liquidated damages may exceed the value of the remaining work. BEGINNING OF WORK AND TIME OF COMPLETION: The work under this contract shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before expiration of Fifteen (15) WORKING DAYS beginning on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. GUARANTY AND BONDS: A material and workmanship guaranty for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of acceptance of the work shall be required. For projects over $25,000.00 (including labor and materials), the Contractor, simultaneously with execution of the Contract, shall furnish a surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%), of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of the Contract, and a separate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with the Contract.
