The Project generally includes: the replacement of the drives and drive side bearings for 2 RBC units, the removal of an additional drive unit to facilitate the replacement of another RBC drive side bearing, the evaluation of the condition of the removed RBC drive unit, the purchase of a new drive unit, and the installation of the new drive unit if the existing drive unit cannot be reused. Drawings, specifications, and contract documents for the proposed Project, prepared by Environmental Resolutions, Inc., Consulting Engineers, have been filed in the Office of the Township Engineer at 815 East Gate Drive - Suite 103, Mount Laurel, New Jersey 08054, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during normal business hours. Bids must be made on the standard Bid form contained within the drawings, specifications, and contract documents, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications. Further, bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the Project title on the outside, and addressed to: Township Manager at 49 Union Street, Medford, New Jersey 08055. Each bid must be accompanied by (i) all documents listed on the Bid Document Submission Checklist, as applicable, and (ii) a bid guarantee in an amount not less than Ten Percent (10%) of the total bid price as established in the Bid, not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($20,000.00). The bid guarantee must be in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check, must be drawn to the order of the Township of Medford and must be delivered simultaneous with the sealed bid. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C.17:27, and all other applicable laws referenced within the drawings, specifications and contract documents. The Township of Medford reserves the right to (i) reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2 and (ii) to waive minor informalities and/or non-material exceptions in any bid should it be in the interest of the Township of Medford to do so. Further, the Township of Medford shall reject any bid that contains material nonconformities or conditions or which is materially nonresponsive. In the event the Township of Medford does not reject all bids as permitted under N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, and other applicable laws, the Project will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. SCOPE OF WORK The Project, shall include the following work: o The replacement ofthe drive units and drive side bearings for RBC 1 of 2 (Unit 1 of Train 2) and 1 of 3 (Unit 1 of Train 3)o The removal ofthe drive unit and bearing, the replacement ofthe drive side bearing for RBC 3 of 2 (Unit 3 ofTrain 2) and an evaluation ofthe condition ofthe drive. o The purchase of a third drive unit, the installation ofthe drive on Unit 3 of Train 2 ifthat unit cannot be reused. If the existing unit can be reused the new unit shall be provided to the Township for future use. o Fill Weld and Machine RBC Shaft (If and Where Directed) if RBC shaft shows heavy signs of scoring. o Start up and operation of the three RBC units. Note, these units have been offline for many months, as such, the unit's media will be out of balance and proper protocols from the manufacturers will need to be adhered to which will take time and numerous trips to the plant by the Contractor.
