Saving Project...

This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Denver, Colorado. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

This Request for Documented Quotations (DQ) is issued by the State of Colorado, acting by and through the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). Enclosed is a brief description and bid schedule for the DRUM San Juan (LPC) Project. PROJECT LOCATION The DRUM San Juan (LPC) Project is located near Silverton and Durango, Colorado in San Juan County, Dolores County and La Plata County. Please see the attached maps. WORK SUMMARY In 2018, an inventory of USFS Defense Related Uranium Mines was completed and 8 uranium adits across three counties were grouped together on the San Juan National Forest for future closure. The mine sites span two different USFS Ranger Districts, the Columbine and the Dolores. The uranium mine closure Safety, Health, and Environmental Action Plan requirements will be applied to this project. There are three groupings of sites. There are 3 adits in Elk Park along the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, which are best accessed by either hiking from Purgatory Ski Resort or taking the train. There are 4 adits located in South Barlow Creek off of the Rico side of Bolan Pass Road, which are best accessed from Bolam Pass along Highway 145 (Lizard Head Pass). Finally, there is one site near the top of the La Plata Mountains which is accessed from La Plata Canyon and an old drill road up Bedrock Creek that takes you to the headwaters of the Madden Creek drainage. The mine sites will all be closed with bat ladders. The sites in Elk Park will all have access doors. A combination of grated adits, corrugated steel pipes, and bulkhead closures will be used to safeguard the sites. Vehicular access to SG01 and the South Barlow sites is generally good, but some hand carrying of materials to the site will be required. Access to the Elk Park sites is within 800 feet of the train, with the requirement to hand carry the materials the rest of the way to the sites. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to coordinate with the train or a helicopter company for delivering materials to Elk Park.
