Reference Number: 0000358458 The City of Durango invites interested, qualified persons or firms, capable of providing the required services to submit bids for improvements that generally consist of replacement of control and grounding wires at three intersections on Main Ave in Durango, CO. Services to be provided by the Contractor will include but may not be limited to: Replacing underground signal cable and grounding components at three intersections on Main Avenue at 8th Street, 9th Street and 11th Street, and provide traffic control for the work areas to include guidance and safety for pedestrian and cyclist traffic in areas where sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes are closed due to repairs. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the work. The successful Contractor will be required to obtain a City permit to work in the Right-of Way, and submit Traffic Control Plans for each intersection. Please note that all permit applications and Traffic Control plans will need to be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to the planned start date. All work will need to be coordinated with the City of Durango and with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). CDOT will inspect the work and conduct a final test on each wire. Each phase indication and location of termination in the cabinet will be verified prior to putting the signal back in service. CDOT will be responsible for turning signals on after work is inspected and accepted. A. Scope of work Turn one intersection off and set up traffic control for the day. Pull out the underground signal cables and pull in the new cable. Leave the camera cable if possible but plan on re-pulling it too. 2 corners will get 3 - 5 conductor IMSA cables with a #10 stranded equipment ground 2 corners will get 4 - 5 conductor IMSA cables with a #10 stranded equipment ground Label and splice each pole and underground cable together. Fish the pedestrian cable up to the countdown modules and terminate. Label and terminate the cabinet, test each circuit in the field, and turn the signal back on.
