Contractor Qualification Highway Division Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The Town of Huntington is exempt from sales and federal excise tax to the extent permitted under law; bidders should not include such taxes in figuring or in references to any bid. The Town of Huntington reserves the right to reject any and all bids, wholly or in part, or to accept any bid even if the bid is not the lowest cost, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the municipality, to waive informalities deemed inconsequential and to make awards in a manner deemed to be in the town's best interest. Question Deadline 08/05/2024 For questions regarding this IFB, please contact: Jennifer Peloquin - Town Administrator admin@huntingtonma.us SCOPE OF WORK Reporting to the Highway Superintendent, the contracting company will perform the following work to the Highway yard located at 7 Mill Street, Huntington, MA: o Remove all existing asphalt and leave it on site as directed by Highway Superintendent. o Fine grade and compact processed gravel base to achieve proper elevations and proper drainage. Processed gravel base will be supplied by the Town of Huntington. o Pave with three inches of 3/4 asphalt binder. o The approximate area is 9,800 square feet. Operators must be properly licensed and experienced for the required equipment. Bid must include: o All associated costs including but not limited to transportation, labor, fuel, equipment, and insurance. Hours and Conditions of Work o Normal hours of work to be from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. o The Highway Superintendent reserves the right to change or suspend the day's work due to adverse weather conditions or other reasons. Notice of cancellation of work will be given to the contractor by 6:30 a.m. on the day cancelled. Violation by the contractor of any of the various provisions and specifications of the contract could result in immediate termination of the contract. The Town reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time based upon the performance of the Contractor. All damaged and altered areas disturbed by the Contractor's operations shall be restored to pre- existing conditions at no additional cost to the Town.
