PROJECT DESCRIPTION As noted above, Pratt & Whitney Stadium opened in 2003 and is the home field of the University of Connecticut ("UConn") Husky Division I football program. Currently the second largest natural grass facility in New England, the Stadium also hosts international soccer matches, in addition to rugby, lacrosse and high school football tournaments. While decorative elements in the locker rooms such as paint and carpeting have been upgraded over the years, the lockers themselves are original to the building. These lockers are worn and obviously outdated and the Stadium is looking to replace them while maintaining the same basic room layouts and same minimum number of lockers in each room. This project is a turnkey installation and it is incumbent that the selected firm be able to provide all services and fabrication, including but not limited to blocking and hardware and electrical upgrades, to sufficiently install any/all products and adhere to applicable building code requirements. The areas included in the project are: Home Team Locker Room - This roughly 4,000-sf space currently includes 121. wooden lockers paired with padded folding chairs. The Stadium and UConn seek to replace these with modern, first-class lockers that are both functional and attractive. Seating should be integral to the design and the lockers should also include electrical access for charging cell phones and other devices. The overall aesthetic should contribute toward a welcoming atmosphere for the Huskies, as well as for visiting international soccer teams who often utilize this room. Visiting Team Locker Room - This roughly 2,000-sf space currently includes 94 basic metal lockers paired with padded folding chairs. The Stadium seeks to replace these with more current, yet basic, lockers that include integral seating.
