Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Grand Forks, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The Province is seeking a Prime Contractor to replace failing Rail Trail Major Culverts, CW-059 and CW-060, near Eholt, BC with a 1500mm x 33m corrugated steel pipe (CSP). CW-060 functions in conjunction with CW-059 and passes the flow of Rathmullen Creek. The 3 existing culverts are buried under 12m-16m of fill. In addition to replacing the culverts, the trail will require realignment and the end haul and repurposing of 11,900m3 of overlying fill. WORKS TO INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Excavation and movement of 11,900m3 of overlying fill The design estimate of 3,950m3 of overlying fill can be repurposed as realignment fill. The design estimate of 7,950m3 of overlying fill will need to be hauled to the designated spoil sites. Site preparation of the work area including: Right of Way clearing and removal of mature timber. Stripping and grubbing. Construction of temporary access trails. Dewatering and site isolation that meet the intent of the CEMP. Supply and installation of 1500mm x 33m CSP (3.5mm gauge) and associated materials and hardware as per the design drawings. Construction of realigned approach fills to design grade as per the design drawings.. Sorting, handling and transport of 100kg class riprap and 50kg class ditch armoring from the pit located 900m East of the CW-060 crossing. Rehabilitation of approximately 65m of stream channel as per the design drawings. Supply, loading, hauling and placement of materials as per the design drawings and as below. Site layout. Implementation of best management practices outlined in the CEMP. Survey and quality control of works to ensure conformance to the design drawings. SITE ACCESS DETAILS From 3rd Street in Downtown Grand Forks travel 27.8km West on Highway 3 to Eholt Rd. Turn on to Eholt Rd and travel 180m to the Columbia and Western Rail Trail. Turn East on to the rail trail and travel 4 km to CW-060, Rathmullen Creek Lat 49.152725° Lon -118.498579° Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca. Award is subject to final approval.
