The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain a qualified contractor to replace existing stairwell doors at Parthenon Towers located at 301 28th Ave. N., Nashville, TN. The contractor will remove and reinstall the existing door hardware. The contractor will coordinate with the MDHA area portfolio maintenance manager for the access to the building. The MDHA area portfolio maintenance manager is Chris Kenner, and his phone number is 615-506-0881. Provide a lump sum and unit price for the removal of existing wood stairwell doors and installation of sixty (60) new wood two-hour fire rated doors with view window. Alternate view window size or location will be considered. Alternate door slab material must be submitted prior to bid for review for substitution approval. Contractor will have thirty (30) calendar days to complete the project upon receipt of the doors. If the contractor does not complete the work within the specified time frame, the contractor will be assessed damages of one hundred ($100) dollars a day for each day of unexcused delay, unless there are delays caused by the owner (MDHA) or circumstances beyond the contractor's control. Any delay that is beyond the contractor's control, regardless of time or costs, must be promptly documented and the circumstances clearly stated with an estimate of the amount of time or costs the project will be impacted. Contractor will coordinate with the area portfolio maintenance manager for inspection of complete installation of doors prior to processing of any pay application.
