Site work and new construction of a military facility in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 11,957-square-foot military facility.
Our scope of services included the following Project planning and coordination with Leo A. Daly (LAD), the VA, and subcontractors. Review of readily available background data for the site, including in-house geotechnical data, existing geologic maps, State of California Earthquake Fault Zone (EFZ) maps, State of California Seismic Hazard Zones Maps, City of Los Angeles Safety Element, topographic maps, stereoscopic aerial photographs, and our previous geotechnical evaluation reports prepared for other projects at the Facility (Ninyo & Moore, 2017, 2018 and 2019a). Performance of a site reconnaissance to observe the site conditions for drill rig access, to mark the proposed subsurface exploration locations for utility clearance, and to observe and map the site geologic conditions. Coordination with Underground Service Alert for underground utility location prior to excavation. This project consists of approximately 11,957 BGSF two story facility, including boilers, supporting mechanical equipment, plant operations room, storage, and administrative office serving the boiler demands for the south and administration office north campuses.
