Removal and replacement of existing roof mounted 180 Ton air-cooled chiller located at Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville. The scope of work includes all labor, materials, and supervision required for the removal and replacement of the existing roof mounted 180 Ton air-cooled chiller at MOCA. Chiller provided will be electrically or micro-computer controlled utilizing tandem or scroll compressors suitable for outdoor installations. The purpose of this ITB is to enable UNF to enter into an agreement with a Contractor or Contractors to complete the removal and replacement of existing roof mounted 180 Ton air-cooled chiller for the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA) located at 333 North Laura Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202. Substantial completion shall be achieved within 30 calendar days of the notice to proceed. Final completion shall be achieved within 15 calendar days of substantial completion. Contract Type : Firm Fixed Price Liquidated Damages The Contractor and the University acknowledge and agree that time is of the essence in the completion of the Work. It is of utmost importance for the Contractor to complete the Work within the time set forth in the Contract. The Contractor understands and agrees that its failure to complete the Work within the required time will significantly impact the University and that the impacts, costs, and other damages resulting from that failure, and as damages arising from such failure cannot be calculated with any degree of certainty if the Work is not substantially completed by the date of Substantial Completion established, or within such further time, if any, as shall be allowed for time extensions in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall pay to the Owner as liquidated damages for such delay, and not as a penalty, $1,000.00 for each and every calendar day elapsing between the date fixed for Substantial Completion and the date of Substantial Completion shall have been fully accomplished. Bonds & Insurance The University requires a Builders Risk policy for this project. Additional insurance requirements as provided in the University's Terms and Conditions and resulting contract, if any, will apply. Description The University requires a certified, cashier's or treasurer's check, bank draft, bank official check or bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount as a condition for participating in this competitive solicitation. Failure to submit the bid bond with your response may be cause for the bid package to be declared non-responsive and disqualified.
