Work at Ching Field as follows: removal of the perimeter rubber ramp curb, and installation of new synthetic turf, infill, drainage mat, and elayer over existing synthetic track where shown, reinstallation of perimeter rubber ramp curb, and other miscellaneous items of work as included in the plans and specifications, and as required to install the new synthetic turf in place complete. The project shall in general consist of, but is not limited to, new synthetic turf at Les Murakami Stadium and Ching Field. Work includes selective demolition, removal of the existing synthetic turf and infill, underlying drainage mat, and perimeter rubber curb, and installation of new synthetic turf and infill, drainage matt, perimeter rubber ramp curb, chain link fencing, and other miscellaneous related work as shown on the plans and specifications The deadline to submit requests for clarification of the requirements of this IFB is August 8, 2024. To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor's license A or C68FF. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Bids will be evaluated based on the Total Aggregate Bid (Basic Bid + any Allowance(s), Additive Bid Item(s), and Unit Price(s), as applicable). The award of contract, if awarded, shall be made to the responsive, responsible bidder submitting the lowest evaluated Total Aggregate Bid. However, the University reserves the right to issue the Contract for any combination of the Basic Bid, any Allowance(s), Additive Bid Item(s), and Unit Price(s) within the amount of funds available. Additionally, in the event that the total basic bid exceeds the amount of funds available for the project, the University reserves the right to reduce the scope of work through negotiation If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty. The University reserves the right at any time, if additional funds are available, to add additional work to the project scope during construction.
