Renovation of a mixed-use development in Auburn, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The Androscoggin County Facility Department is seeking qualified vendors to bid on a design build project to replace our current steam boiler plant. The BTUs provided by the new Steam Condensing Boilers will be equivalent to need plus 1 (N+1)i for heat and domestic hot water. Our current system is a group of 10 steam boilers connected with two main headers. The main headers send steam to both the courthouse and the county jail, the steam then gets converters to hydronic. The 10 boilers provide steam to an approx. 1400gal (about 5299.57 L) DHW water tank to both buildings. The new system will only provide steam to the jail and the new DHW system. The Courthouse will remain on Xii number of boilers sufficient to heat the Courthouse. Removal of X number of boilers and DHW tank is required to make room for the new HVAC equipment. The DWH will continue to service both buildings. If the installation is between September and June, temporary heating will be required. Additionally, DHW will be required year-round without interruption Specifications to be included Installation: o Remote emergency disconnect will be placed outside the building in a secure place agreed upon by County representative and vendor, o Boiler placement will be such that there will be ample room for service and safe operation, o A NG gas detector will be installed to the fire alarm system Roofing: o The contractor will be responsible for any roof patching/repair for the delivery/removal of boilers and related equipment. Removal and disposal: o Remove any non-operational boilers and water storage units, along with the associated piping, electrical, and fuel lines etc.. o The contractor will be responsible for all debris, including removal and disposal. Efficiency of Maine: o The vendor chosen will be a member of Efficiency of Maine and will give "best effort" to obtain any additional available funds. Controls: o Factory-approved controls will be installed to control the new HVAC equipment. o Reach out to Maine Controls for Controlling the new/old boilers including the DHW system, in addition to the factory-approved controls as stated above, o The cost of Maine Controls will be included and carried forward as part of the proposal, Questions regarding this bid/proposal shall be accepted until 4:00 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
