Building components may contain lead-based paint which may cause a health problem for residents. This includes deteriorating or deteriorated lead-based paint, defined in MDH rules (Chapter 4761.0200 Subpart 8) as "...paint that has become or is becoming chipped peeled, or otherwise separated from its substrate or that is attached to a damaged substrate..." and areas containing intact lead-based paint deemed likely to become a hazard in the future. All testing for lead-based paint was performed by MHD staff licensed through the State of Minnesota. Renovation activities may include but not be limited to, stabilizing areas of loose and flaking paint on interior and exterior walls and building surfaces, replacement of windows, encapsulation of areas of deteriorating lead paint, replacement or maintenance of building components, floor and deck repair, and minor roof and plumbing repair.
