As of May 28, 2025, building permit revisions (portables) requested by the City of New Braunfels as of May 20, 2025. Schedule: Mobilization to the entire site will take place as soon as a building permit is secured from the City of New Braunfels and GMP Bid Package 1 Phase 2 Portables are fully occupied. Accommodation to be provided for a three-week moveout by NBISD prior to the start of demolition. Construction is expected to take approximately 20 months from Notice to Proceed (NTP). Phase 2A consists of the demolition of the existing Athletics Field House and the construction of a new 3-story Athletics / Classroom building. The new building ties into Phase 1, which is currently under construction by Joeris. Project Description: The project consists of the demolition of the existing Athletics Field House and the construction of a new 3-story Athletics / Classroom Building. The total enclosed building area is approximately 124,000 SF. The Scope of Work includes but is not limited to: Concrete drilled piers and slab on grade foundation, structural steel frame with composite concrete fill for the 2nd and 3rd floors, and steel framing for the roof. Exterior skin consists of limestone masonry and glass storefront on the exterior walls and SBS modified bitumen roof surface. Interior finishes and woodwork are typical for an upper-end High School. Special features include exterior decorative railings, sprayed fireproofing on the steel frame, expansion control, operable partitions, lockers, science laboratory casework, window treatment, fire sprinklers, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structured cabling, AV systems, video surveillance, access control, fire alarm, landscape, irrigation, SWPPP, fencing, earthwork and utilities. This is the final competitive bidding process for Phase 2A. Subcontracts will be awarded based on the proposals we receive on January 28, 2025.
