Demolition, site work and paving for a civil project in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; water / sewer project; road / highway; and road / highway.

The construction will consist of approximately the following: Demolition, asphalt roadway widening and overlay, concrete bridge construction with pile bent installation, multi-cell concrete box culvert construction, excavation, embankment, striping, erosion control, storm water pollution prevention, traffic control, drainage structure installation, and clearing at 1 site on Warren Watson Rd. & 2 sites on Millcreek Rd. The Contractor shall provide traffic control through the project as defined below and as shown on the plans to provide, at all times, for a safe and convenient traffic flow throughout the limits of each work zone, detours/lane closures, and the approaches. The Contractor will regulate the access of work vehicles and equipment to the work areas. General equipment storage will be allowed within the limits of the right of way if and where directed by the Engineer. At the end of the workday, equipment shall be either shielded from any nearby traffic or have an approved positive barrier not to be within 15 feet of any lane carrying traffic. No equipment shall occupy any portion of a roadway that remains designated for the passage of traffic. The Contractor shall also be responsible for making sure the required barricades and Bridge/Road closed signs are in place, as well as all detour signs and maintenance of traffic items, at the end of the workday. The Contractor shall submit in writing 3 days prior to any proposed alterations to traffic patterns that are shown on the plans to the Engineer for approval. All traffic control devices shall be in accordance with the details shown in the plans. The Contractor will be responsible for furnishing, placing, maintaining, relocating, and subsequent removal of all traffic control devices within the limits of the project. A certified check or bank draftpayable to the order of GarlandCounty negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or satisfactory bid bond executed by thebidder and an acceptable suretyin an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of bid shall besubmitted with each bid. Each bidder must be in compliance with the requirements of Act150 of 1965, effective June 9,1965, subject to any subsequentamendments, which is the current Arkansas State Licensing law for Contractors. The County reserves the rightto reject any or all bids, to waiveirregularities and/or informalitiesin any bid, and to make an awardin any manner, consistent withlaw, deemed in the best interestof the County. Evaluation of the bids will include compliance with bid specifications and price. Price alonemay not be the sole considerationin awarding of this bid. Bids may be held by Garland County for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of determination of the successful bidder prior to awarding of the contract.
