The bridge on U.S. Highway 18 over Stoney Creek, near Everly in Clay County, was washed out back in June. The remains of the bridge were removed and the site prepared for a replacement in August. The project to replace it went out for bid in September. The expectation was for the new bridge to be completed by December 20th, but was able to open to traffic Tuesday night, with just a little work left to complete in the Spring.
