Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in East Marion, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project consists of the replacement of asphalt paving, concrete-related work, and site drainage upgrades at 9245 Main Road, East Marion, New York, together with all related work as described by the Contract Documents. All bids must be accompanied by either a) a certified check payable to the "EAST MARION FIRE DISTRICT" in the amount of 5% of the bid price, or b) a bond with sufficient sureties to be approved by the "EAST MARION FIRE DISTRICT" in the amount of 5% of the bid price. If the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract in accordance with the bid and will furnish a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount of the contract, conditioned for the faithful and prompt completion of the work specified in the contract. If the bidder neglects or refuses to execute the contract and furnish the bonds, the deposit of 5% of the bid price shall be forfeited and retained by the East Marion Fire District as liquidated damages or, in the case of a bid bond, the East Marion Fire District shall enforce payment of the bond for its benefit. The bond must be on the outside of the bid envelope when submitting bid. No offshore bonds will be accepted. Bonding company shall be 'A' rated or better. Performance, Payment, and Warranty bonds on the forms within the Specifications Book for the full amount of the contract are required and shall be included in the bid price. All Contractors shall have Admitted insurance with an A -rating or better. The East Marion Fire District reserves the right to waive any informalities in, to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder or to advertise anew if in the judgment of the East Marion Fire District it is in their best interests to do so. No bidder shall withdraw his bid within 60 days after the formal opening thereof. All contractors must hold their bid for 90 days. Bids must be firm for ninety (90) days from submission and then made permanent in the contract. If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of specifications or other issues, he may submit to the East Marion Fire District a written request for interpretation or correction thereof. Requests to be given consideration must be received at least three (3) days prior to the Bid Date. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the proposed document will be made by Addendum only, duly issued, and a copy will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of documents not later than 48 hours prior to Bid Date. East Marion Fire District will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed document. Question Deadline 08/21/2024
