While every element needed may not be listed in this document, qualified contractors experienced in the trade should plan for all reasonably foreseeable work. The contractor will provide all materials, services and labor necessary to produce a completely finished product. Work will be performed by qualified and experienced tradespersons, and shall be consistent with the best practices of the trade. The work will include, but is not limited to, the following: o Remove all wood decking and wood railing o Perform all minor or routine carpentry repairs o Inspect the substructure and advise the City of any deficiencies found o Provide any minor carpentry repairs to the substructure o Provide an estimate for any major repairs needed of the substructure, and perform the additional work if authorized by a change-order in writing o Replace all wood decking and railing with pressure treated like-for-like materials and maintain a like-forlike design, appearance, dimensions and style o The City is open minded to modifications to the design and appearance, however, any deviation requires written approval from the City before work begins o The current design is believed to be compliant with standards that prevent the head entrapment of children, contractor must maintain compliance with these standards o Any deviation from the existing design requires written consent from the City o Utilize commercial grade galvanized torx screws for all decking and railings o Apply for, obtain and pay for any needed permits o Any permits required from the City of Auburn Hills will have the fees waived o Coordinate with the City on a mutually agreed schedule for the work to take place o Contractor must take all necessary precautions for performing work in an open public park where children and families are present, including those with visual or hearing impairments, or other disabilities o Work area must be completely secured with an appropriate combination of barricades, signage and fencing (plastic fencing is acceptable). Contractors must include background information about their firm that would demonstrate that they are well qualified to perform the work. The City may, in its sole judgement, consider the reputation of a firm to ensure that the services provided will be of high quality. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in the proposal received, and to accept any proposal or part thereof, which it shall deem to be most favorable to the interests of the City of Auburn Hills.
