RFQ - 2025 Water Resources Study PURPOSE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) The City of West Jordan (City) requests proposals from Qualified Consulting Engineering Firms (Firm) for an update to the 2005 Water Resources Study completed by MWH Americas, Inc. BACKGROUND The City's current Water Resources Study is outdated due to the passage of time and requires a full update for the proper utilization of the City's water rights. The population has increased, yet water usage rates are well under the previous projected usage envisioned in 2005 due to an aggressive water conservation program enacted by both Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District (JVWCD) and the City of West Jordan. Moreover, due to the Kennecott / JVWCD groundwater cleanup program underway inside and outside the City of West Jordan's boundaries, full current utilization, and certification of the City's allotment of water rights must be extended in time. This study is to help the City know the proper timing for full use and certification of all remaining rights and answer the supply side questions and concerns of the City's Water Master Plan. he 2005 Study's purpose was to evaluate the water resources available to the City of West Jordan and made recommendations at that time to develop, protect, and use these resources for potable and non-potable use. The study included a review of all water use data, an inventory of existing water sources, an investigation of the City's underlying hydrogeology, an examination of water rights and an evaluation of potential water sources, and a recommended plan to best use the City's water resources. SCHEDULE The City requires to have the report update ready by February 15, 2025, for utilization as a budgeting tool. All such questions should be received by August 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. MT. Answers to questions will be posted on the U3P. REJECTION OF PROPOSALS The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received, and to select the proposal deemed to be the most advantageous and in the best interest of the City. Non-acceptance of a proposal will mean that one or more others were deemed more advantageous to the City or that all proposals were rejected.
