Test, repair, and refurbish, 1 each, generator lower guide bearing, size: 9.00 inches diameter by 13.50 inches length based on approximate dimensions, in accordance with the attached document titled specification for san fernando power plant unit 2 lower guide bearing refurbishment. Services prequested for the lower guide bearing include, but are not limited to: performing non-destructive ultrasonic and liquid penetrant testing to identify cracks, delaminations, metal base to babbitt material debonding, and other defects; performing bearing vertical joints and outer diameter re-pinning and alignment; removing existing babbitt material; pouring new babbitt material; and finish machining bearing babbitt inner diameter to ladwp specified dimensions and tolerances. Perform non-destructive examination, ultrasonic and liquid penetrant testing, in accordance with the requirements of the attached drawing no. 2664-000300/h9 mu2. Remove existing babbitt and rebabbitt with astm b23, grade 2 babbitt. Bearing clearance shall be machined to 0.002 inches per inch of shaft journal diameter per electrical apparatus service association technical manual, section 8.6, bearing clearance, generator shaft journal outer diameter maximum measured at 8.980 inches. Match bearing oil flow features and geometry dimensions to existing conditions, including but not limited to, grooves, slots, ports, side-wells, and oil slingers. Create and submit drawing(s) of lower guide bearing that comply with asme y14.5-2018 standard. Submit a comprehensive final lower guide bearing service report containing in detail the results of all non-destructive examination tests, chemical analysis tests reports, repair shop tests, and as-found and as-left measurements sheets. Los angeles department of water and power will arrange transportation of the lower guide bearing to contractor facility and pick up of the lower guide bearing from contractor facility. The contractor shall ensure the bearing is properly boxed, crated, or otherwise protected to prevent any damage in transit and in storage. Machined finishes in all bearing parts shall be lubricated and/or coated to prevent metal oxidation in transit and in storage, as applicable. All questions shall be submitted through electronically. The department reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
