Materials Testing and Special Inspections Services. The objective of this procurement is to establish a contract with a consultant to provide the required services to ensure and document that the project is being inspected and tested to meet DASNY's and the Department of Health's needs. The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) is seeking proposals from firms to provide materials testing and special inspections services for a new state-of-the-art public health laboratory on the Harriman State Office Campus in Albany, N.Y. to serve New York State's public health needs. The project delivery method is Design/Build. Design is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2024 and construction is planned to begin in the first quarter of 2025 with planned substantial completion in fourth quarter of 2029. Work may include but is not limited to testing and special inspection of construction work associated with any or all of the following construction specialties; Concrete (cast in place and precast), Structural Steel, Soils, Masonry, Spray Fire Restive Materials, Firestopping, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) where applicable. Interested firms must: (1) be able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience providing materials testing and special inspection services specific to laboratory building construction; and (2) employ experienced staff with thorough knowledge of their area(s) of expertise; and (3) employ New York State registered architects, New York State licensed engineers and individually qualified and certified inspectors and technicians experienced in the disciplines the firm is proposing to perform, and (4) identify any subconsultants that may be engaged within this contract to provide any proposed portion of this work.
