All services under this Scope of Work shall be performed under the direction and subject to the approval of the Town Director of Public Works (the "Director"). In the exercise of all or any of the powers herein granted, the Director shall have the authority to delegate all or any part of his or her powers and duties with respect to the supervision and control of this work to his subordinates and assistants in the employ of the Town as he or she may determine. Services will generally be performed during weekdays during eight (8) hour scheduled shifts following a forty eight (48) hour notice. Contractor will not be paid "travel time" to or from the Town or other extras. Bituminous Concrete Sidewalk Specs. A. Item 1-1 Asphalt Sidewalk Type I-1 Bituminous Concrete sidewalks shall be laid in two (2) courses to a depth after rolling of three (3) inches. The bottom course shall be one and one half (1 1/2 ) inches in thickness and the surface course after rolling shall be one and one half (1 1/2 ) inches in thickness. Unless otherwise directed the sidewalk shall have a pitch of 3/16 of an inch per foot of width to provide for proper drainage he mixture shall be dumped, as needed, in wheelbarrows and immediately distributed into place by means of shovels and raked into a uniformly loose area to the full width required and of such depth that, when the work is completed, it shall confirm to the grade and surface contour required. The Contractor may elect to use a sidewalk asphalt paver machine if there is adequate room. The surface shall be rolled with a self-propelled tandem roller weighing not less than one and one half (1 1/2 ) tons and not more than five (5) tons. In places inaccessible to a power roller, compaction shall be obtained by means of mechanical rammers or by hand tampers weighing not less than fifty (50) pounds and having a tamping face not exceeding one hundred (100) square inches.
